Root Canal Treatment involves the process of removing infected, damaged or dead pulpal tissue from your tooth. In general terms, the tooth pulp originates in the center of the tooth and branches out and down each root through the canals of the tooth. Once the canals have been cleaned, they are then filled and sealed with a special root canal filling material and anti-bacterial sealant. Root Canal treatment is generally completed in 1 appointment, occasionally in 2 appointments if infection is severe.
